Our Services:

Landscaping & Site Restoration Services

K&H Construction, Inc. didn’t start as a landscaping company. Our roots are in tower construction, where we learned that completing a successful project means paying attention to every stage of the job—from initial site preparation through final restoration. After construction equipment, excavation, and crews move through a property, disturbed ground often needs attention. Over the years, landscaping and site restoration have become an important part of K&H’s construction capabilities. Our crews have restored challenging job sites ranging from hilly tower sites and long access roads to flooded plains and areas affected by summer drought.

Our Landscaping Capabilities

K&H provides landscaping and site restoration services that include grading, seeding and straw application, hydroseeding, plantings, landscape maintenance, tree removal and clearing, and retaining wall construction. Terrain, weather, soil conditions, and the amount of disturbed ground can determine which restoration method works best. K&H has watered newly planted trees through summer droughts, hydroseeded hills along lengthy access roads, and installed straw mats on uneven terrain. On tower sites with steep slopes, for example, straw mats can help keep seed and protective material in place while providing coverage across the hillside.

Our crews can also assist with ongoing landscape maintenance, including trimming trees and improving existing landscaping. For sites requiring greater structural support or erosion management, K&H has constructed retaining walls as part of multiple tower construction projects.

Case Study

Case Study in Landscaping & Restoration

The Project: K&H needed to restore the ground surrounding an access drive constructed for a tower project. The site included a substantial amount of hilly terrain adjacent to the road where grass needed to be established.

The Challenge: K&H typically uses a grade, seed, and straw method for site restoration, but the slope and wind along this access road created a problem. Traditional seed and straw wouldn't stay where they were placed, instead blowing and moving downhill. While replacing displaced material might have been manageable across a small area, this access road covered too much ground for that approach to be practical.

K&H’s Role: The goal was simple: get grass growing on the hill. Achieving it required K&H to adapt its landscaping method to the conditions. The crew determined that hydroseeding would provide a better solution for the large, sloped area than repeatedly applying traditional seed and straw.

The Result: Within a few weeks of hydroseeding, grass began growing across the restored hillside—and stayed in place. By choosing a restoration technique suited to the terrain and scale of the project, K&H was able to successfully establish vegetation along the access drive.

Landscaping Solutions for Challenging Terrain

Successful construction site restoration isn't always about following the same process from one job to the next. Conditions in the field determine what a site needs. K&H has completed landscaping work across hillsides, flooded areas, dry conditions, and uneven terrain. That experience helps our crews determine when traditional grading, seed, and straw are appropriate and when solutions such as hydroseeding or straw mats make more sense. Whether landscaping is the final step of a larger construction project or a project of its own, K&H Construction brings practical field experience and problem-solving to restoring and maintaining the site.
